🔍 Project Background
This scenario-based video serves as the anchor for KPMG’s firm-wide Risk & Compliance curriculum.
As the Learning Design Manager, I orchestrated the end-to-end design and delivery of this critical training for over 16,000 partners and staff. The primary challenge was navigating strict ISQM1 (International Standard on Quality Management) regulatory constraints. The firm needed to transform complex statutory requirements into accurate, role-based learning that ensured audit readiness and protected the firm’s license to operate.
💡 The Strategy: From Policy to Practice
While my role involved high-level stakeholder consultancy and curriculum governance, I took hands-on creative direction for this high-visibility asset.
To move beyond "tick-box" compliance, I utilised a blended approach:
Instructional Strategy: I translated high-level business strategies into a "safe practice" environment. The video focuses on the nuance of decision-making, allowing learners to spot risk triggers in a realistic setting.
Scriptwriting & SME Liaison: I worked directly with Programme Directors and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to draft the narrative, ensuring the dialogue was technically accurate yet emotionally engaging.
Vendor Management: I managed the external production lifecycle, briefing the film crew to ensure the visual output matched the rigorous quality standards required by the firm.
⛳️🔥🏆 The Result
This curriculum successfully balanced regulatory rigidity with user engagement.
Audit Readiness: The training met all ISQM1 regulatory criteria, ensuring the firm remained compliant.
Cultural Impact: By moving away from theoretical text to high-fidelity drama, the feedback indicated a higher level of engagement and retention regarding complex risk policies.
